We initially thought it was the batteries and replaced them with new ones - no luck. Then it just crapped out and won't charge the batteries. Don't waste your money. We purchased this charger for our Kodak Z712 camera. It charged the batteries a few times and initially worked fine. Its definately the charger.
Much improved design compared to the one recieved at time of purchase of the camera.
I put in a new battery and plugged it into the wall. The Green and Red lights stayed on for 24 hours, and that didn't seem right, so I took a chance and stuck the battery into the camera and it seems to be working fine.I'm not sure I'm willing to have to guess when it is charged up, but I don't want to be without batteries while I return the device so I guess I'm stuck with a defective unit.I wish I would have bought something else, or at least bought it locally so I could swap it out conveniently.There are no instructions, but I learned from others here that the green light is supposed to go out when charged, so either the light doesn't function right or it never did charge after 24 hours.On a positive side, it has nice features (you can plug it in in the car, and it has a plug adapter for receptacles such as in Costa Rica.
This is the greatest product. It is very compact and i can carry it with me on trips very easily.
The battery that came with the charger fit perfectly in the camera. When I recieved the item it charged the battery in no time at all which was excellent.;) I still have the battery in the camera and it has been over a week and is still going strong.The only problem I had was not with the charger itself but with the original battery that came with the camera it was slightly smaller then the one that came with the charger and would not fit properly to charge.
